Settings Overview
Reflecto’s settings let you tailor the app to your workflow. From editor behavior to display preferences and notifications, everything is accessible from a single page.
Accessing Settings
Open Settings by clicking your profile avatar at the bottom of the sidebar and selecting Settings, or navigate directly to /settings.
All settings are saved to your account and sync automatically across devices and browser sessions.
Setting Categories
The Settings page is organized into four sections:

| Notifications | Alerts and reminders — push notifications and daily writing reminders |

Profile Management
Your profile page is separate from settings. Access it via the sidebar avatar menu or navigate to /profile.
Display Name
Edit your display name at any time. This name appears in your profile and is used throughout the app.
Avatar
Upload a profile photo to personalize your account.
- Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP
- Maximum size: 10 MB
- Storage: Uploaded via ImageKit CDN
- Click your current avatar on the profile page, select a file, and the upload starts automatically.
Your email address is displayed on the profile page but cannot be changed directly. It is tied to your authentication provider.
Account Deletion
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All entries, tags, people, preferences, and uploaded images will be erased.
Open Profile
Navigate to /profile from the sidebar avatar menu.
Click Delete Account
Scroll to the bottom and click the Delete Account button.
Confirm Deletion
A confirmation dialog appears. Type the required confirmation text and confirm.
Account Is Removed
You are signed out and all data is permanently deleted.
Feature Toggles
Reflecto includes two workspace toggles in Settings that let you simplify the sidebar by hiding entry types you do not use.

| Enable Dreams | On | Shows or hides the Dreams workspace in the sidebar and Write page type selector |
| Enable Notes | On | Shows or hides the Notes workspace in the sidebar and Write page type selector |
Disabling a workspace does not delete existing entries of that type. Your data is preserved and will reappear when you re-enable the toggle.
Turning off workspaces you rarely use keeps the sidebar focused and reduces visual clutter.
How Settings Sync
Settings are stored in the UserPreferences model tied to your account. When you change a setting:
- The change is saved immediately via the API
- The UI updates in real time
- Other open tabs pick up the change on their next navigation or refresh
There is no manual save button — every toggle and selection is persisted the moment you interact with it.
